How we actually build them
We use high-purity quartz because it can take the hit of rapid heating and cooling without giving up. If your furnace is curved, we bend the tubes to match. It’s a simple fix that kills those annoying cold spots you get with straight lamps. Depending on how deep you need the heat to soak into the glass, you can go with short-wave or medium-wave emitters. And since high current can be brutal on hardware, we use heavy-duty leads. No burnt-out connections here.
A quick word of caution
Here’s the thing: custom lengths let you get a tight fit, but packing a lot of heat into a small volume makes the furnace housing get hot. Really hot. You’ll want to double-check that your insulation and cooling fans can handle that concentrated load. If you cram too much wattage into a tiny space without enough airflow, your lamp leads are going to fry. Just keep an eye on the balance between your wattage and your cooling. Keep it stable, and you’re golden.
